The Wheel of Fortune

Wednesday, April 25, 2007

Because we are working with "Lady Luck" this month, it occured to me that we are "riding the wheel of fortune" and I thought it might be a good idea to post some information about it.

The Wheel of Fortune represents chance, fate, and inevitability. This is the "Lucky" card of the Tarot deck. It represents the ups and downs of life but more importantly it represents that there is a time for everything.

Usually the Wheel of Fortune can be divided into four parts representing the four seasons of the natural universe.

Spring: a time for new beginnings
Summer: a time for growth and bloom
Autumn: a time for reflection and maturation
Winter: a time for rest and releasing.

When a new endeavor is started the wheel begins anew and one can be assured they will go through all of the aspects the wheel has to offer.

The Wheel offers everyone success and eventual release, but it is the acceptance of change the wheel offers that most find hard to accept. Although "fortune" always offers us another chance to make things right, there inevitably comes a time when one must let go.

Outwardly the wheel offers chance or even luck, it also offers faith in that it guarantees that things will eventually change for the better.

The Wheel of Fortune Card is the number 10 card in the Tarot Deck. Ten is the number of completion and wholeness. As we ride the wheel, we experience all the ups and downs that life has to offer.

Hi guys, our "recent posts" and "recent comments" sections are coming up empty today. I don't know why.

I just spent an hour trying to find out what was up with that, and noticing that other blogs - even the blogs where I got the html from - are all having the same problem. Hopefully it's a temporary glitch and hopefully it's something that can be easily rectified. Maybe it will spontaneously fix itself while I'm at work today.

    Anyway.. ups and downs..

I went to the convenience store yesterday to buy Powerball and Missouri Lottery tickets - I got distracted by the pretty scratchers tickets and bought 2 of those instead - I completely forgot to buy the lottery tickets!

I was having a down moment just now and scratched them - I won $100 on one of them!

    Woo-Hoo!

That's a nice little early birthday present to myself!

Wow! Way to go Melissa! That's awesome and inspiring.

I had an interesting experience yesterday. I noticed a "missed call" on my cell phone from a number that I didn't recognize. My first thought was: Hey great! I won something!

I did a quick check of my voicemail before I realized that it was way too soon to have won anything at all... LOL.

well....I am not dead. almost. but not quite. none of my lottery tickets won anything yet....but i still keep buying them. way to go Melissa! and Shirley.....maybe your feeling of 'i won something' was a psychic message to pick up the phone...maybe it was a good person calling. or maybe, it was some jerk that wanted to badger you about a bill...
    anyway....
    back to killing myself....
