Something Personal

Tomorrow my dad, Bill Gibson, is going in for surgery. I was wondering if it would be possible for us all to hold him in thoughts of love, and healing. If anyone wants to send Reiki, prayer, Ho'oponopono, and love ... that would be awesome. The surgery is Wednesday March 5, at 3pm in El Paso Texas.

And since I'm asking for this, and posting a picture, I'm going to tell you a little story about him. My dad dedicated his whole life to following the spiritual path he believes in. This is a person who would give you the coat off his back, even if it was his ONLY warm coat. I know, because I saw him do just that. We were living here in the states then... and an encyclopedia salesman came to the house. Well, we didn't have any money, but my parents invited him in and next thing you know they're telling him all about being missionaries in Ecuador, and about God, and he's telling them about how he has a wife and a kid and no money. And then my mom is offering him coffee and a sandwich, and I'm like horribly embarrassed by the whole thing.

Finally, the guy gets up to leave, and my dad sees how threadbare his coat is and he goes and gets his one good coat and just gives it away. Just like that. It's winter, and my dad gives away his one good coat. I couldn't believe it. At the time, (I was 16) I thought he was really stupid to be so tender hearted. I thought to myself, "what a sucker for a sob story"... it wasn't until years later, when my own husband was trying to sell stuff door to door, and we were living hand to mouth, that I realized how wonderfully generous and kind my parents were to that little salesman... and often I wonder what happened to him... how his life was changed by that visit to our house... and stuff like that.

Your prayers, and your love is deeply appreciated. Thank you guys so much. I love you and I'm really glad that you are working this project with me.

I did as I said, I held your Dad in my meditation times both this morning and last nite. I also talked to his liver and told it that it needed to be strong and well, and function perfectly. I know everything is going to be fine. Since we are all united, one. I know that are love is stronger than any misperception of dis-ease. Sending everyone love and seeing them as they truely are.

Well! I see now who started you on your path of sharing love and light! What a gift to have parents such as yours! My dad also would bring people home, hitchhikers traveling the world, a college student who became my piano teacher, a Japanese exchange student. Looking back I treasure all the experiences that being open to people has brought.
Prayers and healing thoughts go out to your father, Bill, (also my dad's name!) With everyone's love and positive energy going his way..he's bound to be just fine! Peace and good thoughts for you and your family as well!
