Angel Invocation

Wednesday, October 08, 2008

Here is something ou may have learned it as a child. Despite the simplicity, is quite effective if spoken with sincerity.

Guardian Angel

"Angel of God, my guardian dear,
To whom God's love commits me here;
Ever this day [or night], be at my side,
To light, to guard, to rule and guide.
Amen."

LOVE it!!! This has always been one of my favorite angel prayers along with the famous portrait that goes along with it!

I love that picture too! When I was a little girl, I could see my guardian angels. They were really tall, somewhat masculine in appearance, with giant wings, and they walked beside me everwhere I went and I talked to them all the time. I don't ever remember them talking back to me... and for some reason, I never expected that they would.

Two Feathers, that is so amazing that as a little girl you were able to see your guardian angels! That must have been very comforting to you. I love how you described them and how you would talk to them each day. Maybe they never talked back to you but spoke to you in a different way? Did you have two guardian angels with you on each side?
I am never sure how many guardian angels we are born with..I hear one, two, and sometimes three along with other specialty angels that aren't guardian angels. What do you think?

Hi Lisa, I don't know how many angels we are born with - it probably depends on the circumstances and situation how many show up at any given time. As for the guardian angels of my childhood, I remember them walking one on each side of me. I wonder if they are still there...
