The Oculatum - Project Overview

Monday, November 30, 2009

“Do no thing
by half
Best done
than ill tried.”

~ The Oculatum

Here is an overview of our project on The Oculatum. This post provides links to pertinent aspects of this project for those of you who are interested in exploring it.

If you are curious about this particular project, you can read The Oculatum - A Brief History. If you are curious about the results that we experienced, you can read our feedback and various thoughts at And Today We Rest and Wrapping Things Up. As you can see there wasn't a lot of feedback for this project. And if you'd like to give it a try, here are The Suggested Instructions.

This project was jam packed with lots of great little sayings, so many, that I made an "Ask The Oculatum" widget. You can find it at the bottom of the page. It's pretty cool. I use it when I need a new thought, or an idea for the day. If you want to buy The Oculatum, it's available at amazon, here's the link.
If you would like to try this project for yourself, you can start on Day One - Every voyage and then continue on through reading and working with each post in order. Or, you can explore the individual posts at random by using the widget at the bottom of the page. It might be interesting also, to find one saying that really resonates with you, and focus on it for the next 30 days. How you work the project is up to you. There is a complete listing of the day by day links at the bottom of this post.

This is an active blog, and if you post, we will notice and reply.. and give you the benefit of our own experience and our support if it seems pertinent or appropriate. Feel free to post your thoughts, ideas, results, joys and disappointments as you go. Even though we love you, comment spam is deleted when discovered, and we've had so much of it lately that I enabled comment verification. Anonymous posting is discouraged, however, if you have problems with the comment box, feel free to use that option.

We do have a recommended reading list if you are interested in expanding your understanding. I don't know how up to date it is, but there are a lot of really good books listed. Feel free to add titles and authors that you would recommend. We do have quite a collection of quotes, and if you want to, you can visit Way Cool Quotes and find a bunch more.

As promised, here is the complete listing of all the posts for our "The Oculatum" project:
The quotes start here, and every seventh day - we rest. Those posts are listed as well.

    Wrapping Things Up

    Wednesday, November 25, 2009

    What a fool does last
    a wise man does first...

I love that quote, even though, once again I'm probably doing the "first" thing last!

As you can see, I haven't quite caught up with myself here on The Prosperity Project... looks like I'm having some problems with time management and it doesn't help that my internet connection gets really really slow whenever it rains and it's been raining alot here in the Midwest. So, while we wait for me to get The Occulatum project wrapped up, I thought I'd share this email I got a while back from one of our readers.

    Hi Shirley,
I don't know if anyone would like to know this, but I just published a book of Poetry called, Poems for a Positive Day. If you know anyone interested in poetry of this kind, they can go to MyVeryOwnFan.com and see the link. My blog has a lot of poetry on there as well.

    Best,
    Donna Cavanagh

We do have many talented people who visit this blog and participate in our projects. If you are one of them, and would like to say a few words about yourself, or if you have a website, myspace or facebook page, blog, book, or anything you'd like us to know about, now is a good time to talk about it. Plug it, sell it, brag about it! Don't be shy. You might also enjoy exploring the links in our sidebar.

As for our next project, I'm hoping to get started on that as soon as the Thanksgiving Insanity at my house is over and done with and the mess is cleaned up.

    And Today We Rest

    Wednesday, November 11, 2009

Today we rest, and not only that, it's the last day of this project! When we get done with our respective naps, it will be time to log in and talk about how well this particular project has "worked" and decide whether or not we have found new clarity in our lives, new insights, more money, deeper happiness, etc.

Also, I had a really good idea of how to use this month's treasure trove of "sayings" and good advice. You'll find that we now have an "Ask The Oculatum" widget at the bottom of the page here on the Prosperity Project. It's pretty cool - it took me 2 weeks to figure out how to make it, and it was definitely worth the effort. Enjoy!

    What a fool

    Tuesday, November 10, 2009

    What a fool
    does last
    a wise man
    does first

    Be no beggar
    to the morrow
    if your purse
    is bare today

    Down no man's
    faith
    that your own
    is better

    Destiny
    awaits
    at every
    turning

    Loan no coin
    to friend
    save you
    lose both

    Do not
    cut
    that you
    may unite

    Our Most

    Monday, November 09, 2009

    Our most
    devious foe
    slumbers
    within

    The laborer
    will easy see
    the baker's
    daily toil

    Trust
    not
    till
    proved

    Truth
    shall
    fear not
    question

    Fortune
    is often
    in company
    of effort

    We are
    known
    by our
    fellows

    We May Not Avoid

    Sunday, November 08, 2009

    We may
    not avoid
    our
    destiny

    Only
    the good
    feel
    guilt

    Stronger
    to sway
    of the storm
    than sever

    Ask of
    the traveled
    to know well
    the voyage

    Listen
    well
    for you
    may hear

    Honor
    has the
    keenest
    sight

    Any Path

    Saturday, November 07, 2009

    Any path
    will lead
    with not
    direction

    The heart
    of faith
    fears not
    of man

    Barren winter
    brings forth
    the fruitful
    spring

    We are soon
    defeated
    by our own
    quick hand

    Judge not
    your fellow
    lest you
    be judged

    Seek good
    for it
    may then
    find you

    We are

    Friday, November 06, 2009

    We are
    most gullible
    to our own
    untruth

    Our
    strength
    is equal to
    our burden

    Knowledge
    is often
    a choice
    by wisdom

    Most
    strident
    are the
    uncertain

    Doubt
    first
    then
    learn

    No fiend
    constant
    more than
    temptation

    Your own words

    Thursday, November 05, 2009

    Your
    own words
    may strike
    you deaf

    Truth
    speaks
    but few
    words

    We may not
    impart
    what we
    do not hold

    Our most
    constant
    companion
    is change

    That given
    in grace
    shall be
    returned over

    Follow
    no one
    you would
    not lead

    And Today We Rest

    Wednesday, November 04, 2009

Here's where I'd like to be resting!

    Our trifle wants

    Tuesday, November 03, 2009

    Our trifle
    wants
    do soon
    enslave us

    Nought
    will come
    to the
    closed door

    The
    impossible
    was once
    a dream

    This day
    will not
    soon
    return

    In virtue
    there is
    always
    reward

    See not
    your fate
    in others
    faces

    Lock Not

    Monday, November 02, 2009

    Lock not
    for that
    you have
    no key

    Be not fool
    on first look
    for show is
    no substance

    Want not
    justice
    ask only
    mercy

    Be honest
    to yourself
    be honest
    to another

    There is no
    good cause
    for anger
    to another

    Pity
    the debtor
    above
    the pauper

    Seek anew

    Sunday, November 01, 2009

    Seek
    anew
    for it
    is there

    Obtain
    with love
    that refused
    in force

    The loving
    spirit
    is not
    defeated

    Not but
    misfortunes
    grow of
    your garden

    For in
    everything
    there is
    choice

    Triumph
    is born
    out of
    adversity
