Stabilize your Family area with symbols

Tuesday, January 23, 2007

Feng Shui activity for today:
Add a symbol stabilize

Wood is the element for this area, so wooden picture frames with pictures of your loved ones are great here. Any wooden item will do, even toothpicks and chopsticks. A bowl of pine cones or acorns is symbolic here, along with anything made of paper, wicker, rattan, or bamboo.

Rectangular or columnar objects belong here. Water also works here – pictures of beautiful Venice canals, a water bed, and undulating forms (water takes any shape) are fine here.

This comment doesn't actually have anything to do with the family area, but it happened to me today and I wanted to share it with you guys.

I have been having some problems with my supervisor at work "dogging" me.. at least that's how it felt to me, and that's how it appeared to the people I sit with. Like she was constantly watching me to make sure I "behaved".

So, I resolved to do something about it. My plan was to do a self-hypnosis tape for spiritual protection to eliminate any negativity coming my way, and to do a Gypsy spell for better relationships at work, and to look around and seee if there was any feng shui cures that I could do.

But, the days passed and I didn't do any of that. So this morning, I though.. "Oh Gosh! I need to do something easy and quick!" So what I did was a small bit of feng shui. I changed out the big paintings I had hanging in my "reputation" area. They were predominantly "black" in color and had a "water element" feel to them which was inappropriate for this area. I changed them out for paintings that reflected "wood" and "fire", the paintings have gold frames so I thought that would also put a "shine" on my reputation.

I also ran around and took down all the underwear that I had hanging around drying (I still have no dryer) because I decided that underwear hanging out to dry was not good in the "reputation" area.

That was all I had time for, so that was all that I did. So, when I went in to work this evening I wasn't expecting too much of a change. I figured it would take the feng shui a period of time to work, and I fully expected that things would be pretty much like they were last week.

But no! Surprise surprise!

Suddenly, she no longer feels it is important to keep a constant and frowning eye on me. How cool is that? The energy between us has totally changed. I might also add that I did not change my behavior in any way. And not only that, but this morning management decided to "crack down" on everyone, so it would seem to me that she would have been even worse than before...

So... I am impressed with how well it worked, and even more determined to resolve my clutter issues and get on with my bigger and better life.

Hey guys, check it out. I added a quote of the day. See if you can find it. It's powered by Zaadz - I think it's pretty cool.

Also I added a link to shirley's zaadz page in our listing of links. Check it out.. it has a profile, art, and a blog.

Melissa, zaadz is a great networking site, and it might be worth signing up there. It's free to join, and who knows, you might get some hits on your travel store. I think it's worth looking at for sure.

If anyone else has a link that they want me to post, just let me know, and I would be happy to put it up for you.
