Sometimes we have this idea that we can only be thankful for the "good" things in life. However, it is often the difficulties and the "problems" that ultimately bring us what it is that we most want and need.
So, I thought that today it might be interesting to try this out:
I have this problem: _____________,
and it benefits me because: ___________.

I have this problem, that I keep reaching, or feel like I keep reaching, the same level/place of spiritual growth and then stop. THis benefits me by it's recognition.
I have this problem: Constant back pain, and it benefits me because: since I can't work, I am getting some much needed rest and time to myself to explore who I am and what I'm about.
I have this problem that I know I left a nice long post here earlier today, and it is just missing... and that benefits me because now I get to think about it again.
And so...
I have this problem that my house is messy, and this benefits me because it gives me a really good excuse NOT to invite anyone over.
I have this problem that I don't have a lots and lots of money, and that benefits me because it very effectively stops me from "fixing" all of my daughters problems FOR them by throwing money at them, and now they have to "fix" their problems on their own because not only can I NOT throw money at them I don't even have TIME to come over and make it all good.
And I have this problem that.... I'm sure there was another one... What was it??
Oh well, I don't remember. So it must have taken care of itself between then and now.
Cool!
I have this problem that I am so burned out and bored at work that it's excruciating to be there, and it benefits me because we are now starting to take solid steps to pay down our debt and save enough money that I can take a sabbatical from work and pursue some other things I've always wanted to do.
