A wake up call!

Friday, September 28, 2007

Today we are depositing $128,000.00 !! Have you ever even seen that much money? in person? Some people make that in a year, and more. For me, this represents 10 years of working at a job I don't particularly enjoy. And interestingly, I'm finding it really hard to write checks for big amounts of money. Even when I know it's not really coming out of my actual bank account... I'm having all kinds of anxiety and indecision. Clearly, this is a "wake up call" for me.

And, speaking of waking up, I found this really cool little alarm clock! It's called the "Runaway Alarm". I found it on shiny shiny, this is what she had to say about it:

It must be great fun being an alarm clock designer, dreaming up ever more sadistic ways to rouse us from our slumbers and then irritate us beyond belief. Of all of the clocks I've seen, though, I reckon the Runaway Alarm takes some beating - or rather, it doesn't take any beating because the damn thing runs away and hides itself once you've hit the snooze button, forcing you to get out of bed and hunt it down to get it to shut up. The little rubber wheels will allow it to drop down from your nightstand and travel over wooden or carpeted floors to find itself a suitable hidey-hole. Your challenge, then, is to find it and shut it up, without giving in to the temptation to beat it to a pulp when you succeed. Wave goodbye to that "hit snooze... hit snooze again... hit snooze again" cycle, and wave goodbye to $49.95 to buy yourself one of these.

The Runaway Alarm is available at Hammacher Schlemmer.
