Did you get what you wanted

abort

Here's something that might be fun. Look around the room. From where you are sitting, how many things can you list that you wanted and then received? More than 10? More than 20?

That was easy! Now, pick out several of those things and think about how much you wanted them, how long you had to wait to get them, what were the circumstances that allowed you to receive them?

I don't know about you, but it felt really good to me when I thought about how I got this computer, my file cabinet, the really cool dragon on the dresser, and the four little kittens on my lap.

So, today, let's keep our focus on how good it felt when we received the things around us that are ours... and let's try to keep that good feeling going all day long.

Awwww. Four Kittens? Now that IS a wonderful gift!
OK. This is a good story. We looked at over 100 houses (I don't think I'm exagerrating)when my husband and I were combining households. Almost a year of searching. Each of us had a list of what we wanted, but I was impatient to get settled and easily swayed by each house we saw and would say, "We can change this and that and make it work..lets get this one!" Over and over, our offers fell through or people outbid us. My youngest daughter however, had the power of VISION on her side. "Two story, grey with white trim, picket fence, basket ball hoop, red door.." She kept her dream firm and with the exception of the red door (I promised we would paint it) this is HER house we are living in. I love it!
I really wanted a place to be able to meet clients for readings and the bookstore I'm at every other Saturday is perfect, harmonious, wonderful...I could go on and on. Exactly what I needed!
Earlier this week I made it to payday without a couple of renegade outstanding checks hitting my account. Whew! I was SOOOOO happy all day! It made me feel lucky, properous, energized, excited. I prayed for assistance with that and the feeling of relief was incredible. It's silly, really, because I know I would not DIE if a check bounced. It would not be the end of the world. I just truly wanted everything to be GOOD with my bank account and it WAS. I'm so grateful for that simple blessing!

Karla - those are great stories.

And, yes, Kittens! I have been trying to remember to keep my focus on the good, and only the good, but it's been a bit of a challenge this week.

As for this exercise, I'm going to have to pass on it til tomorrow. I'm trying to think of something... but it's almost 1 am and my brain is not working for me... so...
